RE: Merry Christmas! - Danster - 01-08-2024 Every year it gets watched, generally early in December, not long after the decorations get put up. I think I've seen Die Hard about 10 times, but I've probably only seen Die Hard 2 and 3 maybe twice. Die Hard 4 I watched once and won't watch again and I don't think I've ever seen the 5th one. It's just a trilogy for me. RE: Merry Christmas! - General Ceel - 01-09-2024 Growing up, Die hard 2 was the film I was most familiar with because it came out in 1990 when I was 8 years old and then was readily available. I remember Die hard 3 coming out and being kind of maligned. For years it was kind of like Back to the Future 3 which never seemed to be available on TV or VHS. I really like Die Hard 4 (Live Free or Diehard,) as a movie, however where I think it goes wrong is with being called Die hard. Its actually based on a book that they bought and adapted to be in the Die Hard universe. Its a solid flick, but I think the older fans were expecting an R-rated movie, rather than something so family friendly. The 5th film I've only seen once. It was released in February, traditionally a dumping ground. With a 90 million budget and 300M box office it wasn't a flop, despite feeling like it came and went into obscurity. RE: Merry Christmas! - Danster - 01-15-2024 I prefer 3 to 2 to be honest. I remember watching 3 for the first time when I was probably 11 or 12 and my Mum thought I was some sort of genius because I worked out the water fountain conundrum almost straight away. I still remember the look on her face as she was working out what I'd just answered and she said, "He's right you know". RE: Merry Christmas! - General Ceel - 01-20-2024 yippee ki yay RE: Merry Christmas! - Danster - 02-03-2024 Is it time to start thinking about Christmas 2024 yet??? RE: Merry Christmas! - General Ceel - 02-03-2024 hehe, not quite. We only took down the last of our 3 Christmas trees last week. RE: Merry Christmas! - Danster - 02-04-2024 Our Christmas tree is lying on its side in the back garden, I really need to get that sorted out. It's quite a depressing sight to be honest! RE: Merry Christmas! - General Ceel - 02-06-2024 This year we had two artificial trees and one real tree in our house. The real tree was up from the weekend after thanksgiving until New Year. After that it was out to the curb to be picked up and hauled away. The town does haul them away, but sometimes local farms will also take them away to feed goats or whatever other livestock likes them. RE: Merry Christmas! - Danster - 02-07-2024 I chopped mine up and put it in our garden waste bin. We pay about 60 dollars a year in your money for fortnightly collections of garden waste. Bin isn't the biggest so I had to chop it to fit. RE: Merry Christmas! - General Ceel - 02-08-2024 Yeah, they do monthly brush and garden waste pick up here for much of the year. It stops once all the leaves have fallen off the trees, except for the Christmas tree pickup. |
