RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (open-ish) - Mak Manto - 12-18-2024 Mak's expression remained the same: calm, stoic, perhaps even detached. It was as if he had a look of boredom on his face as he saw people running out of the restaurant with the remaining filming the encounter. Looking back at Jameris, Mak picked up his cane, twirling it again in his hand. "Because you called for Jedi to come..." Mak looked at the empty bottle of scotch and really wished he hadn't drank it all so fast. He was really killing for a drink right now. "Why don't you put your lightsaber away and we can talk about the current situation. I remember you're an extremely talented duelist during our time with the Rogue Jedi Order, but so am I, Jameris." RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (open-ish) - Danster - 12-19-2024 To expedite his trip, Danster elected to jump into his HLAF-500 starfighter rather than have his shuttle prepped. The journey from Naboo to its moons took only a matter of minutes, but speed was deemed prudent by the latest report from Onoam. "Master Bokoto, there is reports of patrons fleeing DonFatso's and confirmed sighting of a lightsaber hilt. The Captain of the enforcement squad is insisting he be permitted to engage." "Sithspit. You tell that Captain to stand down, unless he wants to get his troops killed. And that's a direct order." With an increased sense of urgency, the Gungan pointed his craft skywards towards the green blue sphere orbiting around Naboo and engaged his thrusters. Enough is Enough - Jameris - 12-20-2024 Through the force Jameris became aware of a new but similar aura heading their way. Danster Bakoto... "Something's wrong here," he tried to recall his memories of Mak but there was not much, "we never really knew each other." What treachery is this? With a flash and an all too familiar snap-hiss Jameris lightsaber ignited for the first time. The soft vibration of the hilt in his hand evoked a recently vacant sense of excitement. His saber was an extension of himself, his arm did not end at his hand, it was a part of him. In less than the time it takes to blink an eye the blade cut through what should have been Mak Manto and bit deep into the backrest of the chair he appeared to be sitting in. The Thisspiasians' form wavered like a hologram you passed your hand through before regaining its original form. "Ha," was all Jameris said as a smirk of joy reached his lips followed by his form disappearing. Somewhere just beyond Onoam's orbit Jameris awoke from the deep trance he was in, a heavy sweat on his brow, transmitting your corporeal form took immense concentration. After a quick shower and robe change he exited his chamber as the ship gently rocked starboard. Z9 rolled past him beeping about how the hyperspace jump had been successfully calculated. They made their way to the cabin together, Z9 beeping and whistling in excitement, it had been nearly three years since their arrival at Onoam. "Disengage auto-pilot," he said as he took the pilots' seat, "hold tight Z." Jameris finished adjusting to the jump vector manually and reached for the throttle lever, "Here we go!" Within a breath Naboo system was behind them. RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (finished) - Mak Manto - 12-21-2024 Tensing himself just slightly, Mak watched a range of emotions fly across the man's face before he heard the sound of the lightsaber activate. As he had said only a few moments later, Jameris was an exceptional swordmaster, and Mak understood his death had been close by only milliseconds. Moving himself in the chair, his appearance would have looked like a hologram as he dodged the blade before he watched Jameris disappear. Mak was quiet for a few seconds as the remaining patrons that had been filming also ran out in fear, leaving him the only person in the entire restaurant. Getting up slowly, his cane tapped as he came up to the bar and used the Force to pull a scotch bottle off the shelf. Taking a look at the year, he nodded before throwing a large credit chit on the counter. Sitting back down, Mak opened the bottle, pouring himself a nice helping of scotch. RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (finished) - Danster - 12-21-2024 Danster nestled his starfighter on a landing pad close to DonFatso's and was greeted by diligent operatives offering to valet his craft. Onoam was home to Naboo's wealthiest, it was custom for high society to purchase second homes on the moon and residency permits were not freely dispensed. Almost all the operatives currently offering him services would commute back to Naboo as it was impossible to afford to live on the moon on such a humble wage; the Gungan could not stand the place. Politely declined an eager taxi speeder pilot offering him a lift to a nearby luxury spa, Danster set out on foot to his destination. It was left than five minutes before he was striding through the double doors of DonFatso's, an ironically named establishment that had taken its name from a similar facility in Theed which was much more rough and ready. It had now been franchised out and it was comical how different the two places were. The spirits, ales and wines that decorated the space behind the bar were almost all out of reach for the patrons that used to frequent the original DonFatso's Bar & Grill. Danster's eyes landed on a familiar being engaged in a familiar past-time. He was surprised to find him alone given the reports he had received the presence he had earlier felt. The Gungan and the Thisspiasian did not see eye to eye; the Jedi Master felt Mak Manto had not atoned for his past misdemeanours and he was aggrieved when the Jedi Order permitted for him to be quartered in the Jedi Temple when Mak last was on Naboo despite the Gungan not only petitioning against his stay but arguing for his arrest and detention. He reluctantly relented in his campaign but it was fair to say Mak Manto was not on Danster Bokoto's Christmas list. However, he felt confident that the Thisspiasian did not represent an immediate threat and he observed the label on Mak's bottle. "Good choice, although they do an incredibly rare Shistavanen Scotch you should try. I believe this is the only place you can procure it outside of the Uvena system, but I should warn you, it's probably cheaper to buy the bar." RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (finished) - Mak Manto - 12-21-2024 "Maybe that's what I should do: buy a bar and become a bartender. Put this Jedi business to rest..." Using the Force, another glass came from behind the bar until it landed in the chair opposite of him, where Jameris had been sitting. Pouring out a glass for Danster, Mak nodded to the chair. "Would you care to join me?" RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (closed) - Danster - 12-23-2024 "It's harder to do than you might think." Danster took a seat opposite Mak and gladly took the generous tumbler of Scotch. "You're here alone?" Things were certainly afoot. After years of peace, Naboo had just experienced an attack on Otoh Gunga and the appearance of two infamous force users in the space of a couple of weeks. RE: Recreating the Naboo Stormwall (closed) - Mak Manto - 12-24-2024 "Jameris Malak was also here..." Seeing as nobody else was in the restaurant save the two of them, Mak pulled out his pipe and lit it up, allowing himself a smoke. Sighing softly, he shook his head. "He put out a call for any Jedi to come back to Naboo to help. He decided to meet here, but he was... different." |
