RE: TGC Fitness Thread - General Ceel - 11-27-2023 Looks like you've got a lot going on. I've always kept things simple. Ideally I'm running lots of miles, but even when less active I might hop on the spin bike daily and then throw in some basic weight bearing exercises. At nearly 42, I've gone through a bit of a drought in recent years after training very hard for over a decade in my late 20's through lake 30's. That was when ultra trail running dominated my life. I miss it, but find it difficult to have the kind of single-minded obsession that was required to build that level of endurance. The 40's are still really good running years though, so I hope get back there again. I have logged a little over 800 miles in 2023, but that's less than half of my output during peak training years. RE: TGC Fitness Thread - General Ceel - 12-02-2023 still clicking off a few miles here, as the weather and motivation allows. RE: TGC Fitness Thread - General Ceel - 12-16-2023 My mileage has been dwindling recently, but I'm looking forward to the new year as an excuse to start over and begin counting them again. RE: TGC Fitness Thread - Danster - 12-17-2023 I'm kind of using the run up to Christmas as an excuse to take it easy, under the pretence that post-Christmas I'm going to hit it hard with daily workouts and regular runs/cycles. RE: TGC Fitness Thread - General Ceel - 12-18-2023 That's sort of how I've done things in the past. Usually its a much needed break before getting back into the swing of things after the new year to prepare for spring and summer races. Of course this year the last thing I need is more rest. |
