Promoting TGC - General Ceel - 09-16-2023
So far I've done a few things to help out. The board URL is up on my youtube channel in the description. It will also appear in the description of each new video. When it makes sense or I think about it, I'll also try to mention TGC in some videos.
I've also been submitting to search engines to help accelerate the process of getting us crawled and indexed.

I've attempted to post on the old Facebook group but it's pending administration approval and has been for two days.
I posted a link on Star Wars Chaos but it just got me banned. I did have a chat with the owner there in our Discord though, he was Atremis Obauldi or something similar back in the day. I didn't realise the place spawned out of TGC.
I also replied to thread about TGC at the HoloNet but that place looks pretty quiet these days too.

It would be a bit sad to think that people who could jump back in and have some good times, reliving the old days, are refusing themselves the opportunity because of a decades old grudge that might actually be based on something you never actually did!

At this point the bigger issue than people's weird grudges is probably just managing to locate a few people willing to give this a try. This only works when we've got that. With that in place we can either just hang around like this, or feasibly shoot for something more. Its not as if we're likely to be able to sell an empty board founded in 1999 called 'The Gungan Council' to many perfect strangers without first having something that looks fun to show them if they do happen across us.

I haven't had a response to any Facebook messages yet, it's quite possible that they don't use it anymore like so many people.
I jumped into the Chaos discord, and given my ban for posting an ad to The Gungan Council I made sure I didn't even mention the place, never mind advertise it. I came across a couple of familiar faces, Bethany Kismet and Phylis Alince and other than one slight oddball, it all seemed pretty cordial. Then low and behold I have a look this morning and they've banned me from there as well. Very strange, when did the world get so sensitive?
The irony is, I suspect that Artemis O-something who left TGC to set it up was probably one of the ones moaning about what a ban-happy dictator you were! All a bit strange, I'd have probably considered hanging around there if this place dies on its backside (and let's be realistic, the signs are not looking great!!!)

I've jumped into a few random Star Wars related Discord servers to spread the word but I think it's generally frowned upon to advertise anywhere these days.
Remember back in the day where people would actually have a specific forum dedicated to spreading the word about other Star Wars communities? Everyone seems so defensive and protective these days.
