Merry Christmas! It's been a busy, busy period in the build up. Now I can relax, no work until 4th Jan and we're on a little holiday in the Peak District.
First full day was a good un. We braved the rain and 40mph winds to cycle the Monsal Trail, an old railway line that is now a maintained pathway that includes tunnels and viaducts. Managed just under 6 miles before we stopped at a cafe and turned back, meaning a round trip of over 11 miles. Not bad when one of our party was my 6-year-old on a single-geared kids bike!
Its done pretty much nothing but rain here recently. At least its not snow I guess. But I'm hoping for dry weather for the beginning of the new year. Time to get serious about the fitness thing again.
I'm home on the 2nd. I'm having a relaxing day 3rd and then back to work, both in a professional sense and a fitness sense, on the 4th.
I'm determined to make 2024 a proper productive year; get into the best shape I've been since my 20s, make serious progress in my learning Greek mission, don't waste time on my phone when I could be engaging with my kids and to get more organised and productive at work.
Back onto Christmas, whilst we're technically still in the festive season, are there are films you will watch every year or do you give Christmas films a swerve?
Home Alone is one that gets watched every year. Regardless of whether it's a Christmas movie or not, me and the wife will always watch Die Hard in the run up. Also a British film called Love Actually.
