Even as Disney is allegedly abandoning physical media it finally seems like they're beginning to understand that there is a market for expensive deluxe physical media releases.
When streaming arrived they all pretended that they need to kill physical media in order to force people on to their streaming services. But the thing is, they still need to constantly release new content on their streaming services because the back catalog alone can't sustain them. That being the case, it never made sense for them to back away from physical media. Physical media does not hurt streaming anymore than TV hurts theaters.
