Coruscant - Lower Levels

A contrast in extremes, the tall and handsome Corellian walked with his head down, a knowing, impish smile on his lips, kicking his feet almost childishly as he walked the district. He sported a lightsaber hilt and a blaster on his belt, the former standing out against his all-black outfit. The weapon might invite a challenge or distant respect... but the slightly mad expression and strange posture was enough to make most second-guess engaging the man.

To have risen so far, only to fall to this point! he thought to himself.

Then, Ethan caught himself and remembered that he'd never ascended that far anywhere, in anything. His wild grin widened, then briefly soured as he reflected on that.

Failed Jedi apprentice, runaway Sith Knight, with a few bodies to celebrate the shift from one to the other. And for what?

He veered sharply to the right, crossed the pedestrian bridge and made for the cantina on the next block. The move caused a stir amongst other beings but the Force had guided his steps and Ethan knew he could clear past them without a problem. Besides, even if he did clip someone, it wasn't as if they'd bother to argue over it when they really saw him.

For what? he thought again. I don't know!

Ethan giggled to himself, drawing another stare or two. He straightened up as he approached the pair of Gammorean bouncers outside the cantina. They were fierce but stupid, but yet smart enough to sense the madness and power emanating off him. Dark blue eyes scanned the cantina's interior before going up to the bar and sitting down. Something would happen here; he could feel it. It was just a matter of discovering what.

The lower levels of Coruscant weren't all that bad if you knew the right places to go. This cantina was one of them, and they even carried a half-decent brandy to boot. His journey through the Core had been mostly eventful; a few escapades here, an ecape or two there. Nothing out of the ordinary for him, but it didn't hurt to never leave behind a trail to follow. Doing so could lead to situations involving bounty hunters, and he really wasn't in the mood to deal with trigger-happy fools.

Yet compared to a certain man that walked into the bar, Lucien preferred to deal with those fools over somebody capable of exuding an aura with that much pressure. The individual clad in all-black didn't even bother to mask that menacing aura he projected. Lucien felt it before he noticed it. His gaze shifting away from a fair-skinned Twi'lek dancing on stage and following the man across the Cantina until he seated himself at the bar. It was not every day that one came so close to a person that bold. Then again, it wasn't as if one needed to be as discreet when moving around the lower levels of the planet.

"But still..." The words were audible to nobody but himself. Seated alone in the corner of the cantina, he had his own little booth and the privacy that came with it. Lucien gulped the remainder of brandy after contemplating on getting a refill. Eventually he shrugged at the thought and his legs began moving for him, right towards the man seated in all-black. He sat to his right and placed the cup down in front of him. A gesture towards the bartender brought him Luc's way. "One more." He spoke before the man could get out a word. Lucien had been drinking on Vasarian brandy the whole night, which meant the bartender was familiar with him by now.

He motioned to refill the cup, to which Luc raised another gesture towards the man again. "Leave the bottle." He commanded, not asked. Almost on cue he placed the bottle infront of him, and with a wave of the hand the man would walk off. His presence within the force returned. He only hid his presence as a formality, not necessity, and it was the easiest way to break the ice in his current situation. That being said, it wasn't the only thing he was planning on doing.

Reaching across the bar, Lucien retrieved another cup and sat it between him and Ethan. "Care to join me for a drink, friend? It's Vasarian, not the cheap shit the locals drink."

Up until his concentration was interrupted, Ethan sat at the bar with his eyes closed, simply listening to and feeling life thrum all around him in the Force. Light and dark, joy and pain, all of it washed over his senses. It made Ethan feel very alive and as confused as ever.

He turned toward the speak, a slightly deranged but amused smile on his lips. He asked very sincerely, "The locals drink cheap shit? What is the going rate these days that there is both cheap and expensive shit?"

Ethan nudged the glass with the Force, tugging it within reach of his fingers, accepting the invitation for a drink of no-shit Vasarian brandy.

"Were you waiting for me?" he asked.

Afew booths away, more toward the back, Nade was having a quiet drink and reading the latest relevant news. This was interrupted, of course, by a rude Ubese making lewd comments to her, and about her mother. This, did not sit well with the mando woman. One could positively Hear her face twitch into a dark fury.

"You Said What ? .... About My MOTHER !"

Nade proceeded to leap over two booths, and start pulverising the poor ubese up against the wall, who had sensed that he was in danger at the last second. In the span of a blink, Nade was positively roaring vengeful curses in Mando'a as she neck-lifted him. She waited until the last possible second, to throw the unconscious Ubese into the large garbage can in the corner.

"Garbage in, Garbage out." and Nade went back to her booth.

A tense silence now flowed about the back of the cantina for awhile.

Before his newfound drinking buddy could respond, there was a skirmish behind them. Ethan eagerly turned to watch the Mandalorian trash the Ubese.

"What a woman," he breathed in awe and appreciation.

While most everyone else looked away lest they also anger the Mando, Ethan stared openly. Of course, he knew all about Mandalorian culture and traditions and knew better than to provoke her - even with his own skills with the Force - but the display of self-assured righteousness was very attractive to the lost soul that was Ethan.

Lucien didn't get his next sentence out before a fight erupted in the corner of the room, drawing the attention of first Ethan, and later Luc himself. He reached for the bottle and filled both their cups to the halfway point, and raised the glass towards the Mandalorian as a sign of respect for handling the disrespectful alien with ease.

He chuckled at the sight of the alien being tossed into the garbage can. "That's the type of local that drinks the cheap shit." He spoke up, a finger tracing across the air towards the unfortunate thing. The lid slammed downwards on his rear, confining the man within the garbage can until he woke up and realized his position. He raised his glass towards the Mandalorian and gave her a nod out of respect. His gaze didn't linger too long unlike his friend, but he did signal for the bartender to send the woman a complimentary drink on his tab.

The silence which followed left him time to reflect on the man's previous words before the altercation had began. 'Interesting question..' Lucien thought as he raised the cup to his lips and gulped down a generous amount. "I wasn't waiting for you, by the way." He finally voiced, albeit at a low enough tone to keep the conversation between them. "To be honest, I sensed you coming before you arrived at those doors...but then again, you weren't even trying to be subtle huh?"

The Zanetti walked in from the back room. The cantina had originally been run by the Hutts but the Zanetti Family had taken it over along with everything within this district. It was a process but it was one that Kain has been a part of since the Family decided to start to expand. They were still working on the lower levels, some minor gangs didn't want to give up or join them, so they had to be taught.

Kain looked to see someone in the garbage and then the Mando. He shrugged, moving over to the bar. "Zadarian brandy, now." The bartender quickly went to move down into the basement to get one of the rare brandies. Looking around, Kain passed over the two other males at the bar. He shook his head, scanning around until the bartender returned. "About time!" Taking the bottle Kain moved towards the reserved seating area.

Nade was pulled out of focusing on any whispers of useful intel provided by underworld news and rumor, with the arrival of a nice drink given to her by the waitress droid. "Courtesy of the two gentlemen in black." it said, before peeling away on its one wheel.

Sans the helmet, she was very pale, with black pixie-cut hair and almond shaped eyes that were bold electric blue. Her shapely lips seemed to have a perpetual jaunty smug smile, as if she was always up to something sly.

Turning to look, her curiosity was piqued, especially since they had a presence in the Force. Getting up from her booth table, she walked over to them. "Greetings, gentlemen. I take it you're a fan of my sorts of handywork ?" She stood there, drinks in one hand and helmet in the other, smiling, curious as to the pair of .... (Sith ?) and their plans. She spoke in a clipped brogue sort of accent, but somehow managed to make it sound kind of classy and kind of dangerous.

Ethan nodded at his new drinking buddy, glad to know what the situation here was.

"No. No point in subtly, right?"

He looked to the Mandalorian and gave her a dopey smile, surprised to see her sans helmet. Oooh, she's pretty. And cocky. I like that too.

"Total fan," he agreed. Then, Ethan reluctantly added, "But my new friend here is the one who thought to send you a drink. I was too busy being in awe of your work to remember how to think."

He grinned.

Luc shrugged at Ethan's response to his question regarding the lack of discretion the man exhibited. It was a moot point by then, considering he'd previously used his own abilities to close a drunken alien inside of a trash bin. Luckily for them, there wasn't much of a crowd on that evening in question. What people were there to witness the pair were far from likely to interfere, especially after the Mandalorian approached and joined their little party.

Ethan spoke first, to which Luc let out a chuckle once he was finished. "I consider myself enough of a gentleman to appreciate when a woman gives an asshole what he deserves." He offered a playful half-bow from his seat before gesturing towards one of the open stools around the pair. "I believe my friend here is the one who's truly infatuated with your handiwork." Luc shot a wink towards Ethan before finishing the remainder of his drink.

He refilled his cup again before calling for the Bartender and requesting a second bottle of Vasarian brandy, and finally a bottle of Correlian whiskey to be sent towards the individual seated in the corner of the bar. Lucien recognized power when he saw it, even when it was something as simple as the sway a man held within a seedy lower-level cantina. It wasn't as if he were hurting for credits, and etiquette was a virtue that he learned went a long way in his assortment of vocations.
