Well, if I die like this, Lukas thought, most of the way through a second big bottle of something potent, it's a helluva way to go...

Every now and again, the mech peeked his head out from behind the recessed bar in the center of the station. Was there fighting going on still, somewhere? Probably. Did Lukas know where? No. And was he too drunk to care? Yes.

He peeked out then, blearying surveying the abandoned cantina - some holoscreens showed static, some showed GNN's feed of the battle. Lukas' vision wavered, temporarily seeing double. He blinked, then ducked back under the bar with his bottle.

Kerry was no Sith, he didn't possess their training or their power, but he had been in their service long enough to learn some of their ways. Fear wasn't the answer in this situation, not if he planned to survive. He had failed in his mission, but Kerry now knew that was the point. Was their even a reward for him? Had he out lived his usefulness to Miri and this was her way of sacrificing him for a better tool? Miri was many things that Kerry both appreciated and despised but one thing she wasn't was wasteful. If Kerry was still useful and proved it he would live. For a little while longer anyway.

Pushing down all his fear he stood and looked the apprentice in her eyes, allowing his fear to be replaced with pure anger and hate. If she was going to kill him he was going to die he was going to do it on his feet, not cowering at her feet. He would prefer to live, but if he was going to die maybe he could take this bitch with him.

"No I don't fear you" he managed to say as he felt the grip of the Force wrap around his neck. Instinct took over and he reached for his own throat to prevent the crushing sensation, even if there was nothing for him to stop.

As the grip tightened and his airways began to close, he forced his hands to drop to his belt, doing his best to look like he was surrendering to her will. His fingers however quickly found their goal. A stun gernade that he hadn't deployed during the battle. With the skill coming from repeated practice, he activated the count down to detonation. The grenade wasn't designed to kill, she it detonated a massive stun wave would wash out taking down anyone in range. He had seen it work on Force users before, but not consistently. Some seemed able to resist the effect. He wouldn't be able to however, when the device deployed he would instantly be taken out and left to the apprentice's whims if she wasn't also knocked out. He would live or die, but either way he would deprive her the satisfaction of watching him die.

With the flu t down in his head tracking the time to detonation, his other hand found the control for the shield and just as the device went off he lowered the shield so the energy would capture her as well. 'Screw you,' was hislast thought as the stun energy danced off his body taking his mind into darkness.

As Miri exited the pod she felt the lurch of the vessel following her commands as it jumped into hyperspace. She didn't particularly want to leave, she would rather have crushed the Jedi and Republic. Made them suffer and realize the futility of resisting the Empire before she killed them all. However the Jedi reinforcements had changed the tide of battle and her mission and survival always override her own personal feelings.

Looking around the landing bay she drank in the carnage and destruction. Her apprentice had succeeded well beyond her expectations, which was good, she wouldn't except a weak apprentice. It looked like she had slaughtered Kerry's entire strike team, leaving delicious death and the echoes of fear and rage everywhere she looked. 'This should be fun,' Miri thought to herself as she approached a survior. Her apprentice was obviously powerful and blood thirsty, which would make her an excellent tool for the war ahead, but from the look of things she was also head strong and over confident in her power. Miri would need to ensure she understood how much more powerful she was than her apprentice.

The survivor was obviously not a part of Kerry's team, as he wore a Sith military uniform. He was young, strong, and obviously not afraid of her, despite his deference to her position by bowing and calling her mistress. What caught her attention however was the raw untrained presence in the Force, it was strong yet conflicted. An interesting toy that Miri night explore in the future but for now she had more pressing matters to attend.

"Inform the deck crews they can resume their work and have them clean up this mess." Miri snarled slightly not showing any of the interest she possessed in this toy to appear in her voice. "Report to me when you have done this, I have more work for you."

Without giving him another thought she followed the strong presence of her apprentice in the Force down the hallway where he could still feel Kerry and her alive. 'Interesting she thought wondering which way the confrontation would go before she arrived.

So he knew how to behave; with death looming on the approaching horizon, he still tried not to show fear, but anger and hate, in a pure Sith style... a pity he had nothing of a Sith and such show of force wouldn't save him. "Ah, so daring in the face of death. How brave of you." she taunted as she kept on tightening the Force grip slowly but steady, let him see the darkness come closer and closer... crawling forward... till it surrounded and drowned him out.

She drank in the life slowly seeping away, in the taste of dominations and control that came when holding complete control on the life and death of a sentient being. She wanted more of it. The burning demon inside her burned bright, reveled in such power. Yes...

With the corner of her eye, she spotted the movement of that fingers, what he was trying to do...? Really did he thought he could try to take her out in one last pointless attempt? Ah-a! Brave... but foolish! She let her Force grip go, less than a fraction of a moment before the stun grenade detonated; a Force barrier sparked into being around her, protecting her from the effects of thhe stun grenade. However, her mood swinged dangerously as he kind of robbed her of her playing moment.

With a little of bared teeth as her mood had soured, she moved closer and nudged his head with her boot "Pitiful." she spat, before turning around, his usefulness as a toy had ended, living or dying, she didn't care. As she focused, she felt not one but two presences! Interesting... so the little confused pilot had some power hidden around, now that was something curious. She had to torment him some more sooner or later, she was curious to prod and see some more of him and of this power he hid around. However, the other presence took her attention as it came closer, bigger, more present and powerful. Her would be Master was coming. Yes!

She stood silent, taking a calming breath as she subdued the demon burning inside her; she prepared to be just a notch lower than her usual, she had learned that some people tended to underestimate her if she looked less than what she really was, so she prepared to be a little "calmer" if calmer fit and see how her would be Master behaved.

The explosion could be felt from kilometres away as the vibrations rang through the monolithic structures that littered the surface of Coruscant. Even from this distance Micheal could hear the screams as people around watched in horror, shock, and terror. They echoed around him the same way the screams of his fellow colonists had when the Sith had attacked and destroyed his home, killing so many of his friends. While the fear was the same, the results were not. No one had died, Micheal had made sure of that when he and his companions had set out on this mission. This was a message, a warning, that the Republic was vaunerable, weak, and unprepared for the brutality of the Sith.

Micheal had thought it would have more difficult for himself, Holler, and their small band of trusted fellows from the RLF to slip into the empty Senate building than it had been. There was some security of course, but they consisted mostly of droids. The few sentient beings that made up security were concentrated in the main security office, relying on the droids, probes, and spy cameras to do that actual monitoring and patrol of the building. That worked perfectly for Michael's purposes, he wasn't ready to sacrifice anyone's life yet.

With the darkness of the night, and the stealth tech that Holler had managed to acquire, getting past the lack security had been easy. Navigating the building safely without tripping the motion sensors had been more difficult.

"If we set the charges here it should do the most damage without killing anyone like you asked," said the bomb tech that Holler had found for them. Micheal couldn't remeber her name but was greatful for her help in his plan. The Senate needed to hear, needed to listen, and more importantly needed to finally act. The politicians though were more conserned with themselves than the people, they wouldn't act swiftly unless there safety was threatened.

"Good work everyone," Micheal said smiling beneath the mask that shielded his face as he watched the smoke and flames rising in the distance. "Maybe now we can get some action."

More work? Jason thought to himself as he moved to the follow the more powerful Sith's orders. Wasn't he supposed to be returning to his ship and fleet? Not that he was looking forward to returning to be a gunner aboard the battleship, but he had only been meant to transport the apprentice before returning. Now he had caught the attention of not one but two Sith. That was a frightening and unsettling idea. He had heard stories of those that had taken the interest of the Sith before, and even if only a few of the stories were true it didn't bode well for him. Still there was something far worse than having a Sith's attention, it was failing to follow ones orders.

As he made his way through the carnage left by his and the Sith apprentices defense, he was surprised to see the deck crew already moving in to clean things up. Thy seemed to be on standby, already prepared to act as soon admire Sith had vacated the area.

"Are you hurt Sir?" One of the deck crew asked, hidden completely by protective armor and carrying a medical kit. He must have been one of the medics armored up to keep him relatively safe while he was doing his best to find and save anyone who had survived, not that Jason helped that anyone had.

"No, I'm fine" Jason said as he absentmindedly gave himself a pat down to make sure shock hadn't hidden any injuries from his notice. "Looks good, but the Sith said she wants the deck cleaned and normal duties resumed as soon as possible, sooner actually.

"Understood Sir!" The other being said nodded in understanding under its armor. "I wilk relay the message before heading out to look for survivors. Jason wasn't sure there would be any o actual look for, but he wasn't going to stop them from looking as long as they followed the Sith commands. If they failed many of them would die, maybe all of them, and probably himself as well.

Jason didn't say anything else as he turned to follow the Sith's last command, the one he wasn't looking forward to following. He needed tomfollw where they had both went and await more commands. Was he going to be transferred to their command, was he going to be their toy for their amusement until he wasn't entertaining anymore and they killed him? He didn't know and he wasn't sure he wanted to know anyway.

Making his way down the corridor Jason stopped as an explosion rippled through the corridors. Not an explosion really but rather a shockwave from a stun grenade. The two felt the same at this distance, but the later left no physical damage to ship or crew. Had the mercenaries ssurviced and launched another attack? For a moment he thought about running away, slipping back in the shuttle and getting the hell out of here, but knew better. There was no leaving or escape for him. He made his way quicklyndown the corridors u til he found them just as the apprentice dropped the limp mercenary to the floor. How the two Sith were still standing defied his understanding, but then a lot of things about the Sith did.
