I just got back from some a "Sprinterval" training run. There is a small park 300m away from my house with a rectangular track around the outside that's about 450m around. I jog there, and then sprint the small edges of the rectangle and slow jog the long ones. Managed 8 laps this morning, which was just over 4km in total, but it's much harder than just going out and jogging 4km.
I'm working in the office tomorrow, but I've found out it has a shower on two of the floors. I might try and get into the habit of taking my running gear and some shower stuff and knocking out a 5km on my lunch hour. It has the double benefit of stopping me going to the pub on my lunch hour, so double the health benefit! It's right in the city centre, but there is a couple of nice loops you can do that take in the river and the medieval section of the city.
Starting to lose motivation a little bit. Last few days I've been pretty flat. Did a 5km on Thursday but haven't run since. Drunk a shitload Friday and yesterday too, and I'm on the whisky right now.
It was a beautiful morning for a March this morning, 10 degrees (that's 50 to you) and bright sunshine. I do the kid's school run and then work from home on Mondays. It's about a mile and a half and we generally drive, but this morning the kids got their scooters and I ran behind. After dropping them off I went a long way home and ended up doing close to a 7.5km loop all in.
Having a good week so far. 7km+ on Monday, 5km+ on Tuesday, nothing yesterday and a 4km+ run this morning.
Annoyingly I went out early and it was a bit chilly, but about 20 minutes after I got back the clouds vanished and it was beautifully sunny and a good bit warmer.
