In the Bleak Naboo Winter (COMPLETE)

[Darth Mayhem]

"How dare you insult me. You think there is anything in your pitiful Temple that would placate me? You Jedi scum have nothing of value to me and you will pay for your insult."

With that, Darth Mayhem plunged his finger down on the second detonator button, triggering the explosion of a populated bubble.

With skills honed over decades and decades of wielding the force, Danster was able to sense the threat before Mayhem had even finished his sentence. Stretching out with the force, Danster was able to reach out to activate the fire defence systems in both the remaining school bubbles and the one within which he and Mayhem were stood. In an instance, several hatches had opened in the membrane walls of the bubbles and water from Lake Paonga flooded in. The explosion sounded but was instantly quelled by gallons of swamp water. As amphibians, the school children and their teachers within, as well as Danster, were adept at coping with the sudden change in circumstance. Darth Mayhem on the other hand could not survive the new conditions as the bubbles filled in barely a couple of seconds. Before the Sith could swim to the surface, Danster seized his lightsaber from his waist. He attempted a sharp kick to prevent his escape but it failed to land, and the Gungan's priority now was the welfare of the Gungan security officer who Mayhem had rendered unconscious. His limp body was descended to the swamp-floor, so Danster darted down, seized him from under his arms and swam to the closest available bubble. All around him school children were making there way to the same entrance, trembling and terrified but breathing. Once the Jedi Master had safely deposited his fellow Gungan into the safety of an intact bubble, he hurled himself back into Lake Paonga to search for Darth Mayhem, but he knew it was a forlorn hope; the evasive Sith had too much of a head start.

LATER THAT DAY

Having dispatched scout droids to the surface in a futile attempt to locate Darth Mayhem, and alerted the fleet to be on the lookout for any unidentified or suspicious craft, Danster set about drying himself off before compiling his report on the Otoh Gunga attack. There was a time when the underwater city had almost become used to incursions from Sith or their allies but it had been over a decade since they had experienced something like this. For the children in the school Mayhem targeted it would doubtless have been their first experience of such an event. They would now have a story that they could share with the ones their parents told them. For Danster, it meant his retirement plans were over. He only hoped his apartment at the Jedi Temple in Theed was still vacant.
