With season 3 they sacrificed the personal nature of the first two seasons in order to expand into the greater conflict. I get that they are loosely building toward something, but in my opinion it was a mistake to use the entire Mandalorian season as the vessel in which to do it.
I do like that Mandalorian season 3 ended with Mando and Grogu apparently settling down on the outskirts of town, sort of like something from a western movie. Of course we know that when they do a season 4 they'll immediately disrupt their solitude and drag them back into the fray. But I wish they would spend an entire season with Mando and Grogu on their own, going on small adventures and collecting bounties before they do that.

I loved the early episodes of the Mandalorian, where each episode was like a little mission. It'd be great to get back to that with the inevitable fourth season. Not everything has to tie into half a dozen other things. Some standalone storylines or character arcs are more than welcome!
I think streaming has given "TV shows" an identity crisis. Its as if they don't quite know what they want these things to be. Are they traditional TV shows? Are they more like the tv mini-series of old? Are they just movies made a little longer and chopped up into several pieces?
While its cool that they spend a fortune on these things and make look as high quality as movies, rarely do they give me the long term immersion that I get from traditional TV show. The episodes are too short, there are too few episodes per season, and the shows don't go on for very many seasons.
Whether in an hour long drama or a half hour sitcom, a successful TV show would give me up to 24 episodes a year, and sometimes go on for decades. Okay, so some of them eventually might have become less consistently good, because every episode can't be great... what they did do for me was allow me to spend a huge amount of time in the world of the show to live with its characters. With these short Disney shows I don't even feel compelled to rewatch them.
